Youth Ministry

First of all one has to make sure they are not over looking existing programs in the community. Many churches have youth programs that excel over State and Local programs. The idea is to combine their efforts, while you enhance the program to meet the needs of the youth in your ministry or outreach program.

As in the write up on this web site concerning The Holy Spirit we find that each and everyone of us are given at least one gift and we may have different gifts than others. We also have to consider talents. Many of us have different talents we can bring to the table.

Second you need to write up a plan, a curriculum. Most youth love music. That is usually first on the agenda. Now that the computer age has come in their lives, games and study programs can be combined making it fun for the youth to compete, no matter how their physical being may be.

Third by working with a 5 country outreach program our ministry learned first hand how to combine programs, but also when it was necessary to separate different programs. For an example, the mentally and physically challenged youth out reach program was kept separate, but we sought out things that were educational and fun for each of those youth. You must learn to reach out to the other groups in the area, meet with them, and go over their programs to see you are not duplicating what they are doing and hurting their efforts in the community. In addition, local and state offices can be very helpful in helping with financial situations.

The fourth area of youth outreach programs is to train up leaders among the youth. Boy and Girl Scouts of America are good examples of doing just that. Volunteers trained at a young age make great adult, and senior adult volunteers. You will see some of those youth in our gallery area on this web site where youth are volunteering in the food program we operated for many years in the Atlanta area. We are duplicating these same efforts all over the world, and here on this site offering to help you get started in your own locations.
