Volunteers must learn to look beyond the negatives of poverty. They soon realize these are real people with real needs. They begin with the basics, providing shelter, meals, and support services to homeless families. But many of them go on to do much more, utilizing Exegetical’s existing programs and net working to solve local problems. The ministries and out reach groups from all over the world are trained to duplicate this work.
Our training seminars help others with their visions. Discussions of transitional housing., tutoring children, driving those in need to health clinics, grocery shopping, school events and helping people to re-adjust in life.
People will need food, clothing, books, toys for the children. One has to imagine making a list to start out with everything you need in a home. Dishes, cleaning supplies, furniture and many other items most of us take for granite.
Christian Counseling is a very important service to offer. During the period of losing your home stress sets in. This causes many to do things they would never have done before. A good mentor, offering fellowship, love and compassion will go a long way to helping a family become complete again.
