Golf Cars For Christ

Donation Guidelines

Thank you for considering our ministry for the donation of your golf cart, boat, RV, vehicle, tractor and or equipment you have considered.! The vehicle donations in both operable and inoperable condition and value come under IRS guidelines, IRS Publication 4303 — “A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donations.”

Once we have disposed of the vehicle, you will be informed by mail of the vehicle’s value. The vehicle’s value is determined one of four ways:

Salvage – These vehicles are not repairable (or not financially feasible to repair) and they are salvaged for parts. The value of these vehicles is $499 or less, as determined by the donor.

Sale – Vehicles that run but are not given to new owners by the ministry are sold through various channels. The value of these vehicles is the amount obtained by the ministry when sold. Within 30 days of the vehicle’s sale, the donor will be informed of this value by mail.

Repaired then Sold – Vehicles requiring substantial repairs that are repaired by the ministry and then sold may take significant time to complete, and as such the deduction for these vehicles is the fair market value. In these instances the donor may claim fair market value of the vehicle at the time of donation, per blue book guidelines (not to exceed the private party value). Vehicles must be worth repairing as determined by the ministry.

Distribution – Vehicles that are given to new owners by the ministry are given freely and thus no value is established by a sale. In these instances, the donor will be allowed to claim fair market value of the vehicle at the time of donation, per blue book guidelines (not to exceed the private party value).

How we maximize the value of your donation

We work hard to maximize the value of each donated vehicle as it benefits the ministry as well as the donor. Vehicles not given to a client within the organization are usually sold in an arm’s length deal for the private-party value listed in the blue book. Our goal is to extract the maximum amount from each car possible, enabling us to do more benevolent repairs and to give more vehicles away.

Please bring your keys, title and any applicable accessories for the vehicle you wish to donate. Please bring a screwdriver to remove your license plates. Also, please sign the title in the box labeled Assignment of title where it says Signature of Seller .No vehicles can be accepted without a title. Please make sure we have your current mailing address. Within 30 days, you will receive a receipt and tax form 1098-C from us in the mail.

What we do with donated vehicles

Vehicles not given to clients within our organization are either salvaged for parts or sold, the proceeds of which directly support the Jubilee Cars ministry, ultimately impacting those we serve.

Thank you!

Again, thank you for considering Exegetical Institute a legal 501 c 3 organization , for the donation of your vehicle! Without your generosity, this ministry would not be possible.
